Causes of Sever's Disease
Sever's Disease is usually observed in children of growing age. Primary causes include:
- Higher rate of growth of heel bone in comparison to the surrounding muscles and tendon
- Overstretching of muscles
- Application of repeated stress over the heel bone
- Tightening of Achillies tendon
Some of the significant risk factors include high or flat arches, Short Leg Syndrome (marked by pronounced bending of heel towards the Achilles’ tendon) and obesity.
